How many of these things got made before the collapse? I knew they made a handful of H3 Alphas, but I didn’t know a single H3T Alpha was made before they shut down Hummer. Most surprised if all how clean that undercarriage looks, like it had never seen salt until this guy, usually GM frames look like a mess of surface after just a year or 2.

My 2010 factory undercoating finally started to give up last year—they ain’t so bad. Sad to say though I have not really helped it out in that regard... I always mean to get it sprayed and always forget. Anyway, it’s largely intact still so no major harm done... yet. Get your ass in gear smallbear.

Also, !!!!!!!!!!!! The closest I’ve been to one of those is a kijiji ad. There were two for sale locally at the same time for north of $30k and both were gone within days. I do however see a regular Alpha from time to time

My uncle has a regular H3 - but with 3 pedals, which I would guess is pretty rare, too.

Been a while since I saw an H3T at all - let alone an Alpha. Nice!

Damn, knowing GM’s corrosion specifications as a supplier that’s really surprising to me considering the red rust I’ve seen. Are you in a high salt state? I know they’re really not that bad overall, the Japanese are far worse. The Germans are insane for their requirements for underbody, but that’s the Germans.

I had no idea these still went for that much, holy crap.

I didn’t even realize they made them with 3-pedals, those were the good old days.

I see them from time to time in Metro-Detroit, but then again I also see all sorts of other odd balls you never see anywhere else like the Pontiac G3 (Pontiac Aveo) I think they made/sold 5 of before they shuttered Pontiac.

I didn’t either - until he told me he had one. AFAIK, the 5-speed was only with the I5 engine.

He’s a car nut - that H3 only has a few thousand miles on it. He owns 5 cars in total - including a ‘74 Vette, ‘70 Impala convertible, and weirdest of all - an ‘89 Z24 convertible that he bought new, and has about 1,500 miles on it.

I’m outside of Chicago, and there are plenty of G6's around, more G8's than you’d expect, and I’ll see an occasional G5 - but I can’t remember the last G3 I saw.

Ontario Canada. Toronto specifically. Where they can’t be bothered to plough most of the time and just salt the ever-loving fuck out of everything.

Rarity, man. It’ll get ya. Heck, I picked up my truck for $21k 3 years ago (Well technically $24k but I was an idiot and went for the extended warranty. Could have had it without it, never needed it and it doesn’t actually affect the real “value” of the vehicle) and that was one of the cheapest I could find. There were a couple going for $30k because they owners had barely driven them, but that’s another game entirely

What difference the Alpha makes?

I saw a G3 in traffic the other day. I think I saw one about 4 years ago, too. That’s the frequency of an R63 AMG in my neck of the woods...

Besides the tailgate badge, is there another way to distinguish an Alpha? Is this an Alpha? Is it H3T week on Oppo?

I didn’t know there was an Alpha version of this until today. They also only sold 2,738 H3T’s total. That’s it. So to see even a regular one would be a rare sight. I wonder how many Alpha’s were built total?

I know it was really just a Colorado dressed up, but I still think the H3t was the coolest thing to come out of the Hummer brand. And the closest thing we’ve seen to a Wrangler pick up since the 80’s. Which is probably why it did sell.

There’s one for sale locally on the Denver CL.

Edit: actually, there are two.
